KIBUNE

KIBUNE

Head up into the mountains north of Kyoto and you’ll find the picturesque village of Kibune. It is one of the most popular day trips from the city, and for good reason. Think rivers, lush forests, shrines, ryokans and food. The winding main street runs alongside the flowing Kibune River; it’s the perfect soundtrack for your adventure. Popular attractions include the instagrammable Kifune Shrine, various ryokans and summer river dining. During this time, local restaurants set up dining platforms just above the water’s surface for some natural air-con. Guests can dine on fresh kaiseki cuisine while enjoying the nature all around them. Also popular is the hike between Kifune and Kurama, taking in the beautiful forest and various shrines along the way. To help you get around, check out some of our favourite things to do in Kibune.
