HIROSHIMA

Hiroshima, a 4.5 hour train from Tokyo, is widely known as the site of the 1945 atomic bomb explosion. Since those days, however, it has rebuilt into a modern, vibrant city. If you’re a history buff, there is plenty to see in the Peace Memorial Park. You’ll find the Peace Memorial Museum as well as the Genbaku Dome—one of few surviving buildings near the epicenter. Visitors should also check out Hiroshima Castle and the Shukkei-en Japanese garden. If you like oysters and noodles, you’re also in luck; this is the place for both. With so much to see and do, you can start by checking out the below articles covering our favourite things to do in Hiroshima.
