KANAZAWA

Kanazawa is the capital city of Ishikawa prefecture. It is nestled between the ocean and mountains on Honshu’s central west coast. Historically, Kanazawa prospered during the Edo Period. It was then home to a powerful clan which saw it develop into the city we see today. Luckily, Kanazawa was also one of the few places to be spared bombing in World War 2. As such, you can still see well-preserved shrines and temples as well as samurai and geisha districts.

Kanazawa has many stunning gardens, rivers and National parks to explore. The most famous attraction would have to be the Kenrokuen garden. This 17th century garden is one of the largest and most beautiful in Japan. Kenrokuen is remarkably designed to be enjoyed from all angles and in all seasons.
